Unwanted Pets

Unwanted pets are a problem facing both our community and our citizens. Pets that are abandoned can quickly become a nuisance and a safety hazard. Not only is abandonment inhumane, it is also illegal under NCGS 14-360.1.

Surrendering Your Pet

If you wish to surrender your pet to Craven-Pamlico Animal Services Center (CPASC), please call in advance to ensure that the shelter has space available. Please bring any available veterinary or ownership records for the animal.

All animals are evaluated by our staff and sometimes placed for adoption. Many factors may prohibit the animal from being adopted. No guarantees are made.

For more information about unwanted pets or for questions, please call CPASC at 252-637-4606 during our normal business hours.
