The Veterans Health Administration is the largest integrated healthcare system in America, serving 9 million enrolled Veterans yearly at 1,240 medical and outpatient healthcare facilities.
- Veterans who served in active military service and were separated under any condition other than dishonorable may qualify for VA health benefits. Additionally, former members of the Reserves or National Guard who were called to active duty by federal order (not including active duty for training purposes only) may also qualify.
- Healthcare services are cost-free based on a compensable service-connected condition or other qualifying factor. Non service-connected conditions may require a copay for treatment. Financial assessment and income verification is done at the time of enrollment, and Veterans may also choose to provide private health insurance information to reduce or eliminate copays.
