  1. North Carolina General Statutes require that all real property is to be assessed at fair market value as of January 1st of its most recent countywide revaluation year. The Real Estate Property Appraisal Division functions to list, appraise, and assess the approximately 60,000 parcels for ad valorem tax purposes.
